The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Grand Finals Week Predictions

Hello everyone, this is Proilios , and welcome to my final predictions post of the season. There are just 6 series left for us to witness, which will all still be played on the Playoffs patch, dominated by Dive, and some Double Off-Tank, so I hope you're ready for a final wave of fast-paced Overwatch League action; it's going to be crazy! There are currently 4 teams standing: the San Francisco Shock and the Philadelphia Fusion from NA, and the Shanghai Dragons and the Seoul Dynasty from APAC. It's been hard to tell how these teams would match up against each other since they'd been locked to different regions until now, but I'm still going to make a few educated guesses, no matter how crazy they sound. Get ready! 1. Seoul Dynasty vs. San Francisco Shock After a very strange and streaky season, the Seoul Dynasty are the second-seeded team in APAC, and are about to go up against the much-more-dominant and fearsome SF Shock. The Dynasty showcased some very ...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Playoffs (Week 2) Predictions

Just two weeks of play remaining until the third season of the Overwatch League ends, and it's sad and exciting at the same time. On the one hand, a season full of crazy matches, micro-metas, and diversity is at its tail end, but on the other, we're going to get to see some of the best teams in the League in a very unique meta duking it out with each other in great style. I'm hyped and ready for another week of diving, sniping, and deathballing, so buckle up for my predictions everyone! 1. Atlanta Reign vs. Florida Mayhem- Mayhem wins 3-0 . Although neither team has proven to be better than the other in these Playoffs, Florida has been more consistent than Atlanta. Sure, we've seen the Reign run Dive and Deathball comps quite successfully, but I don't think it compares to the firepower the Mayhem have, especially in their tank line. Fate  and Gargoyle  have impressed me a lot in these Playoffs, which is a huge deal since BQB  and Yaki  have also been super ...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Playoffs (Week 1) Predictions

We're here everyone...we're at the beginning of the end. In just a few weeks, one team will be crowned the Overwatch League 2020 Champion, and will have its memory etched in all our minds for years to come. Once again, we will have no Hero Pools, and will watch our favourite players fight it out on a new balance patch. It's being rumoured that a Double Off-Tank Meta will be seen during the Playoffs, with Roadhog and Zarya taking centre stage, and hitscan heroes being the main source of damage/picks. A composition like Roadhog-Zarya-Widowmaker-Ashe-Mercy-Ana does bring a lot of damage, range, and pick-potential to the table; but it has its weaknesses. In a close-quarters map or a map with multiple flank routes, running Double Sniper is both risky and ambitious, and for that reason, I think Dive will be the meta in those cases. Tracer is still really strong, and she'll likely be a popular pick accompanied by ideally a Hammond, since Winston just gets wrecked by Roadhog. A...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 29 Predictions

Hey everyone, hope you all are doing well. This is Proilios , and I'm about to share my predictions for the final week of regular season play in the League this year. It's going to be a much briefer post than usual since I'm super-busy with IRL stuff, but I'll still try my best to get accurate predictions down. DAY 1 1. Vancouver Titans vs. Boston Uprising- Titans win 3-0 . Will Florida's consistency trump the Gladiators' aggressive play? 2. Los Angeles Gladiators vs. Florida Mayhem- Mayhem wins 3-0 . DAY 2 1. Hangzhou Spark vs. Seoul Dynasty- Dynasty wins 3-2 . 2. London Spitfire vs. New York Excelsior- Excelsior wins 3-0 . 3. Washington Justice vs. San Francisco Shock- Shock wins 3-0 . 4. Dallas Fuel vs. Toronto Defiant- Fuel wins 3-0 . 5. Los Angeles Gladiators vs. Atlanta Reign- Reign wins 3-1 . 6. Los Angeles Valiant vs. Vancouver Titans- Valiant wins 3-2 . DAY 3 1. Seoul Dynasty vs. London Spitfire- Dynasty wins 3-0 . 2. Dallas Fuel vs. Pa...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 28 Predictions

Hey everyone, hope you're doing well. I'm back with some predictions for Week 28, during which we will not be seeing Zarya, Genji, Tracer and Brigitte in the Hero Pool. This might entail more Double Shield, but I'm not entirely sure. Teams could always improvise a little and play what their playstyle enables them to play the best, especially with the end-of-season playoffs approaching rapidly. DAY 1 1. London Spitfire vs. Seoul Dynasty- Spitfire wins 3-1 . This is an interesting matchup, since Seoul has a higher peak than London, but is also more inconsistent. They're quite good at the Barrier-Break variant of Double Shield, especially with FITS  on Hanzo, which could be a sleeper pick in this meta. The Spitfire, on the other hand, haven't ever been "the Double Shield team", and have always leaned towards more Poke-based comps, so they might just adopt those if possible. It will probably work in this meta, especially with London's great Mei play, whi...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Countdown Cup (Week 27) Predictions

The Countdown Cup is upon us, and we're ready to see which two teams are going to win the final pre-playoff tournament in the League this year! Things are looking up, with not just Double Shield, but also a Partial Dive (Winston-Zarya) comp turning out to be useful on maps with high ground, so there's not going to be a stale meta this week! Let's get into my predictions now, and remember that I'll be updating this very page with newer predictions till the end of the Countdown Cup! Let's begin! NA QUALIFIERS 1. Vancouver Titans vs. Atlanta Reign- Reign wins 3-0 . There's a noticeable skill and consistency gap between these two teams, so this matchup leans heavily towards Atlanta. 2. Houston Outlaws vs. Los Angeles Valiant- Outlaws win 3-0 . This is certainly a hot take, but one I'm willing to stand by. The Valiant have proven to be competent in this meta, thanks to KSP  in my opinion, who hasn't disappointed at all with his Ashe play. Except for him, I ...

OverAchievers: A Conversation with Achilios

Hey everyone, it's Proilios  again, and today, I'm pleased to be presenting an article about one of the best play-by-play commentators in the professional Overwatch scene, Seth 'Achilios' King. I'm stoked to be able to write about Achilios ; I love his casting style, and find his energy and enthusiasm extremely contagious. His ability to keep up with the pace of every team fight he's casting, and break down plays in every corner of the spectator screen is second-to-none. Most of you are already familiar with his work, but how much do you know about his   journey to being such a proficient and well-known caster? I'm guessing not a lot, so with great pleasure, I'm about to share his story with you. As a kid, Seth was very fond of video games. He used to get them as a reward for getting good grades, so that he could play them on the weekends after his homework was done. He started off as a console player, but slowly got into PC gaming, thanks to...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 26 Predictions

Week 26...just one week left until the Countdown Cup. This time, we'll get a taste of what the new meta is with Orisa, Mei, Widowmaker and Ana in the pool, so let's get predicting! I'm really not sure what the meta will be like in Week 26, but it could very well be the same as what we saw in the Summer Showdown, with Double Shield being the key comp style, and Genji, Ashe and Tracer being the DPS of choice. The support line will probably still be Bap-Brig as well. DAY 1 1. Dallas Fuel vs. Philadelphia Fusion- Fusion wins 3-0 . The Fusion went to the Summer Showdown finals in a very similar meta to this one, so I think they'll easily dominate the Fuel. This is just not the right meta for the Valiant, so I'm gunning for the Outlaws 2. Los Angeles Valiant vs. Houston Outlaws- Outlaws win 3-0 . Even though a lot of people love hyping up the Valiant, I'm not a fan because they are highly inconsistent. If they come into this match with polished strategies, I think ...
