The OverSeer: Best and Worst-Case Scenarios for each Team in OWL Season 3 (+Pseudo-Tiers)

Just one day left until the third season of the Overwatch League begins, and I'm extremely excited. Not only will this year prove to be pivotal to the presence of Overwatch esports all around the world, but it will also either draw in massive amounts of people to watch the League and gain more viewers than ever before, or end up being a short-lived phenomenon, a momentary dream, that none of us wanted to wake up from even if the rest of our lives was craving for our attention. Welcome back to The OverSeer everyone, and today, I'll be going over each of the 20 teams in the League very briefly, sharing what I think their best and worst-case scenarios are going to be, and also try and construct some makeshift power tiers based off of what I say. Before I begin, I'd like to urge you guys to read what I've written with an open mind, and if you disagree with some things I've written about, which I'm certain you will, express your opinions in the comments section, b...

The OverSeer: San Francisco Shock 2020 Roster Review

This is it, everyone...my final roster review before Season 3 of the Overwatch League begins. It's been a hectic January, what with me having to post 20 reviews within 31 days (I wanted the last week before OWL off to prepare some psuedo-power rankings and just take a breather before my prediction posts begin), but here we are, ready to end on a high, with a review of the San Francisco Shock. This team, as you would've expected, ranked 1st in my end-of-season power rankings for 2019 , and their rivalry with the 2nd-placed Vancouver Titans was one of Season 2's highlights for me. Without further ado, welcome to The OverSeer everyone, and let's take a look at the San Francisco Shock role-by-role. TANK The Shock are going to run super  and smurf  on main tank, and ChoiHyoBin  on off-tank this season. Last year, during the Goats Meta, super  proved to be one of the best Reinhardts in the League, being really aggressive in-game but hyper-aware of his enemies...

The OverSeer: Vancouver Titans 2020 Roster Review

We're now down to our Season 2 finalists, and the Vancouver Titans are up first. This team ranked 2nd in my end-of-season power rankings for 2019 , and even though the Hangzhou Spark were just one place behind, there was a significant difference in the skill levels between these two teams. I don't want to extend the prelude any more, so welcome/welcome back to The OverSeer, and let's break down the Vancouver Titans' 2020 squad role-by-role. TANK The Titans have currently got Fissure  on main tank, and JJANU  on off-tank. Back from retirement and ready to rumble again, Fissure  is a talented main tank player for whom the fourth time could be the charm, as he's been on not one, not two, but three  OWL teams before his signing to Vancouver. Whenever I think of this guy, I always remember that time in Season 1 when he Primal Raged on Oasis and killed Agilities ' Pharah with the splash damage from his own Barrage, and that's a true representation ...

The OverSeer: Hangzhou Spark 2020 Roster Review

NYXL...you guys have some true fans out there. When I shared my New York Excelsior roster review , there were so many fans of the team who emerged and laughed at how I was underestimating their players. I absolutely love the enthusiasm and the energy; it's amazing when esports franchises develop such loyal fanbases, so yeah, just a huge shoutout to all fans of the NYXL. Before we begin, I also want to add some clarification about my ratings here, because there seem to be a few people who are misunderstanding how I decide how good a set of players on a particular role is. When I take a look at a particular role set for a team, let's say the Excelsior's tank line, I consider how talented and versatile each of their players is, and sort of average all those factors out to summarise what I feel about the tank line as a whole. When I say that I feel like a tank line is Top 5, I may not mean that I think all the players comprising that tank line are Top 5. I also don't mean ...

The OverSeer: New York Excelsior 2020 Roster Review

Welcome (back) to The OverSeer, everyone. This is Proilios , and after yesterday's review about the Seoul Dynasty , I am ready to share my thoughts on the NYXL, who placed 4th in my end-of-season power rankings for 2019 . Now this team has been one of the most feared and respected teams ever since OWL began, and they've made some interesting changes this off-season, so let's see if their roster moves improve their chances at winning the championship, or deplete them instead. TANK The Excelsior currently have Mano  on main tank, and HOTBA  and BiaNcA  on off-tank. I don't think I'm exaggerating things when I say Mano  is one of the most respected main tank players in the League. He has never disappointed his team, and is one of the most consistent players on the squad. I also feel like he's one of the best Reinhardt players out there, as he played like a monster during the Goats era, exhibiting solid synergy with Nenne 's Zarya. That said, I fee...

The OverSeer: Seoul Dynasty 2020 Roster Review

Alright, after that spicy LA Gladiators post yesterday, I think it's time to begin discussing my personal Top 5 from 2019, beginning with my 5th-placed team , the Seoul Dynasty. The Dynasty haven't made a ton of changes this off-season, but the ones they have  made are pretty big, so let's break this team's lineup for 2020 down role-by-role. TANK Seoul currently has Marve1  and  Gesture  on main tank, and Michelle  on off-tank. After Fissure 's 'retirement' from this team last year, Marve1  was taken off the bench and fielded as the starting main tank for the Dynasty for the remainder of the season, and he did not disappoint. He was pretty solid on Reinhardt, surprisingly good on Winston, and decent on Orisa. He also played a great Sigma during the Playoffs, which made it even more shocking that Seoul got knocked out in the fashion they did. Essentially, Marve1  is a pretty versatile tank player, and he never felt like a downgrade from ...
