The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Playoffs (Week 1) Predictions

We're here everyone...we're at the beginning of the end. In just a few weeks, one team will be crowned the Overwatch League 2020 Champion, and will have its memory etched in all our minds for years to come. Once again, we will have no Hero Pools, and will watch our favourite players fight it out on a new balance patch. It's being rumoured that a Double Off-Tank Meta will be seen during the Playoffs, with Roadhog and Zarya taking centre stage, and hitscan heroes being the main source of damage/picks. A composition like Roadhog-Zarya-Widowmaker-Ashe-Mercy-Ana does bring a lot of damage, range, and pick-potential to the table; but it has its weaknesses. In a close-quarters map or a map with multiple flank routes, running Double Sniper is both risky and ambitious, and for that reason, I think Dive will be the meta in those cases. Tracer is still really strong, and she'll likely be a popular pick accompanied by ideally a Hammond, since Winston just gets wrecked by Roadhog. A...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 29 Predictions

Hey everyone, hope you all are doing well. This is Proilios , and I'm about to share my predictions for the final week of regular season play in the League this year. It's going to be a much briefer post than usual since I'm super-busy with IRL stuff, but I'll still try my best to get accurate predictions down. DAY 1 1. Vancouver Titans vs. Boston Uprising- Titans win 3-0 . Will Florida's consistency trump the Gladiators' aggressive play? 2. Los Angeles Gladiators vs. Florida Mayhem- Mayhem wins 3-0 . DAY 2 1. Hangzhou Spark vs. Seoul Dynasty- Dynasty wins 3-2 . 2. London Spitfire vs. New York Excelsior- Excelsior wins 3-0 . 3. Washington Justice vs. San Francisco Shock- Shock wins 3-0 . 4. Dallas Fuel vs. Toronto Defiant- Fuel wins 3-0 . 5. Los Angeles Gladiators vs. Atlanta Reign- Reign wins 3-1 . 6. Los Angeles Valiant vs. Vancouver Titans- Valiant wins 3-2 . DAY 3 1. Seoul Dynasty vs. London Spitfire- Dynasty wins 3-0 . 2. Dallas Fuel vs. Pa...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 28 Predictions

Hey everyone, hope you're doing well. I'm back with some predictions for Week 28, during which we will not be seeing Zarya, Genji, Tracer and Brigitte in the Hero Pool. This might entail more Double Shield, but I'm not entirely sure. Teams could always improvise a little and play what their playstyle enables them to play the best, especially with the end-of-season playoffs approaching rapidly. DAY 1 1. London Spitfire vs. Seoul Dynasty- Spitfire wins 3-1 . This is an interesting matchup, since Seoul has a higher peak than London, but is also more inconsistent. They're quite good at the Barrier-Break variant of Double Shield, especially with FITS  on Hanzo, which could be a sleeper pick in this meta. The Spitfire, on the other hand, haven't ever been "the Double Shield team", and have always leaned towards more Poke-based comps, so they might just adopt those if possible. It will probably work in this meta, especially with London's great Mei play, whi...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 26 Predictions

Week 26...just one week left until the Countdown Cup. This time, we'll get a taste of what the new meta is with Orisa, Mei, Widowmaker and Ana in the pool, so let's get predicting! I'm really not sure what the meta will be like in Week 26, but it could very well be the same as what we saw in the Summer Showdown, with Double Shield being the key comp style, and Genji, Ashe and Tracer being the DPS of choice. The support line will probably still be Bap-Brig as well. DAY 1 1. Dallas Fuel vs. Philadelphia Fusion- Fusion wins 3-0 . The Fusion went to the Summer Showdown finals in a very similar meta to this one, so I think they'll easily dominate the Fuel. This is just not the right meta for the Valiant, so I'm gunning for the Outlaws 2. Los Angeles Valiant vs. Houston Outlaws- Outlaws win 3-0 . Even though a lot of people love hyping up the Valiant, I'm not a fan because they are highly inconsistent. If they come into this match with polished strategies, I think ...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 25 Predictions

Welcome back to The OverSeer, everyone! I hope you're ready for another predictions post, because I'm really excited to get into it! We have a very unique and interesting meta on our hands, and I can't wait to see how all 20 teams have worked on it and polished their strategies after one week of experimentation! Please note that I won't be sharing all of this week's predictions at once, since I like to watch each team play their latest game before trying to predict their next one, so be sure to return to this link after each day of play and see what I have to say! DAY 1 1. Atlanta Reign vs. Boston Uprising- Reign wins 3-0 . Atlanta looked pretty good last week with their 'Partial Dive' (because it had a Sigma) comps, which I'm sure are better than the conventional Dive comps that Boston took a liking to. I'm looking to Edison  to be the playmaker for Atlanta once again, and expect this series to be very one-sided. The Uprising came out swinging on M...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 24 Predictions

Hello everyone, this is Proilios , and I'm ready to get into my predictions for Week 24 of the Overwatch League. A couple of weeks ago, we got to witness the Summer Showdown, which the Guangzhou Charge won in APAC, and the Paris Eternal won in NA, thanks to a fresh new meta involving Genji-centric Double Shield comps. However, it's a new dawn, it's a new day, and it's a new Hero Pool for the next wave of matches, in which Orisa, Widowmaker, Mei and Ana will be banned. This means we'll be seeing new strategies develop, since Orisa and Widow were meta picks in the Summer Showdown. I suspect this week's meta is going to lean towards a Rein-Sigma Rushdown comp, with a Bap-Lucio support line. The choices of DPS will be varied, with heroes like Tracer and Ashe still being strong picks. I'm not sure if Genji will be played much, since Orisa and Ana are out of the pool, and their Halt and Nanoboost respectively were useful synergies for Genji to exploit. Maybe we s...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Summer Showdown (Week 22) Predictions

The second tournament of the season is upon us, and we are headed into yet another fun and thrilling week of Overwatch. As you all know, there will be no Hero Pools in the Summer Showdown, and all matches will be part of a Single-Elimination Bracket. I'm ecstatic to be sharing my predictions with all of you, and if you want to check out my official brackets, here they are . Also, remember that I'll be updating this very link as the Summer Showdown progresses, commenting on every match after it's done and adding subsequent predictions as the brackets are clarified, so return to this link whenever a new set of matches is completed! Let's do this! UPDATE: I won't be detailing any match for the remainder of the weekend due to some other work that's popped up, but I'll still keep adding my predictions! Cheers! NA KNOCKOUTS 1. Dallas Fuel vs. Paris Eternal- Eternal wins 3-0 . It may be a little extreme of me to predict a sweep for Paris, but I think they looked ...

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 21 Predictions

Alright, this is where we make a comeback. After sharing a poor set of predictions last week, I made a ton of changes to my power rankings, and I think we're set up for success once again. After having two weeks of Hero Pool-restricted play, the cages have been opened, and D.Va, Brigitte, Sombra and Echo have been unleashed. I'm very excited to see what's going to happen this week, especially on the new patch with those probably meta-shaking Genji buffs. Once again, I expect teams to play heroes and comps that they're comfortable with rather than figure out a meta in such a short span of time, so let's get into my predictions for Week 21! Wish me luck! DAY 1 1. Chengdu Hunters vs. Guangzhou Charge- Charge wins 3-0 . It's not hard to discern the skill difference between both these teams, since the Charge have looked quite formidable on multiple occasions even against top-tier opponents. It remains to be seen whether the Hunters decide to be inspired by the Genj...
