The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 28 Predictions

Hey everyone, hope you're doing well. I'm back with some predictions for Week 28, during which we will not be seeing Zarya, Genji, Tracer and Brigitte in the Hero Pool.

This might entail more Double Shield, but I'm not entirely sure. Teams could always improvise a little and play what their playstyle enables them to play the best, especially with the end-of-season playoffs approaching rapidly.

DAY 1

1. London Spitfire vs. Seoul Dynasty- Spitfire wins 3-1. This is an interesting matchup, since Seoul has a higher peak than London, but is also more inconsistent. They're quite good at the Barrier-Break variant of Double Shield, especially with FITS on Hanzo, which could be a sleeper pick in this meta. The Spitfire, on the other hand, haven't ever been "the Double Shield team", and have always leaned towards more Poke-based comps, so they might just adopt those if possible. It will probably work in this meta, especially with London's great Mei play, which is why I'm giving them my vote.

2. Florida Mayhem vs. Vancouver Titans- Mayhem wins 3-0. This should come as no surprise to anyone. Evidently the superior team, Florida is set to take this series quite easily. They can honestly play any comp they like, be it Poke or Double Shield; this will be a roll whichever way they go.

Will the Dallas Fuel really be as competitive as I'm expecting?
3. Los Angeles Gladiators vs. Dallas Fuel- Gladiators win 3-2. This is set to be a neck-to-neck matchup. Both teams have similar skill levels, and it's just a matter of who ends up having a better interpretation of the meta on match day. I'm honestly not a fan of Dallas' Double Shield comps, and think they should try playing to their strengths, maybe with Poke. Rein-D.Va would enable Gamsu and NotE to pop off more often both offensively and defensively. The Gladiators can certainly outmatch them on that front, but as a team with many different flavours, I can't tell for sure what they'll run.

DAY 2

 1. New York Excelsior vs. Seoul Dynasty- Excelsior wins 3-0. Despite Seoul's dominating win against the London Spitfire, I believe New York can beat them. The Excelsior have shown to be a much stronger and consistent team than the Dynasty, and should be able to beat them with ease if they play their best game. I think they can run some Poke this week, utilising the synergy of core players like Mano and JJoNak to turn Seoul's aggressive Dive play on its heels.

2. Shanghai Dragons vs. London Spitfire- Dragons win 3-0. If Seoul can stomp the Spitfire, so can Shanghai. London had trouble beating Seoul's Dive as well as Double Shield in yesterday's match, and those comps are right up the Dragons' alley.

(Short preds for the rest of the matches because some work has come up)

3. Atlanta Reign vs. Paris Eternal- Eternal wins 3-2.

4. Vancouver Titans vs. Dallas Fuel- Fuel wins 3-0.

5. Boston Uprising vs. Los Angeles Gladiators- Gladiators win 3-0.

6. San Francisco Shock vs. Philadelphia Fusion- Shock wins 3-1.

DAY 3

1. Seoul Dynasty vs. London Spitfire- Dynasty wins 3-0.

2. San Francisco Shock vs. Toronto Defiant- Shock wins 3-0.

3. Florida Mayhem vs. Los Angeles Valiant- Mayhem wins 3-0.

4. Vancouver Titans vs. Atlanta Reign- Reign wins 3-0.

I'll add the remaining predictions to this page as we keep witnessing each section of matches. Do subscribe to this blog and share its link with your OWL-fan-friends, I'm sure they'll appreciate the gesture! Cheers, and stay safe!

The OverThinker: How To Eat Ultimates as D.Va

Hey everyone, welcome back to The OverThinker, where we dive deep into topics concerning the core game of Overwatch. It's been a while since my last upload in this series, but I'm back with something unique and hopefully useful!  In this post, I'll be sharing my insights into eating ultimates as D.Va, which is something I've gotten fairly good at in recent times. Currently, D.Va is my most-played hero; I've got around 200 hours on her on ladder, and have learnt how to use her kit in various situations on all kinds of maps. She's a very powerful hero by design and utility, but is also very easy to play incorrectly. Unlike Roadhog, Zarya, and even Sigma, D.Va's offensive tools are the least impressive parts of her kit. She's an 'off-tank' in the true sense of the term, and playing her requires a unique approach and mindset that you can't use with any other of Overwatch's 32 characters. When you play D.Va, you're supposed to be the prima...

OverSimplified: Winston Pocket Guide ft. Bogur

Hey everyone, welcome to yet another part of OverSimplified! In today's post, we'll be learning about how to play and improve at one of our favourite tanks in Overwatch, Winston. Now, Winston is a very well-designed hero. He' s really fun to play, has his own set of strengths and weaknesses, excels at a specific role, and is still vulnerable enough to allow for counterplay. He's exactly the kind of hero I'm sure we all want to learn how to play, so I got in touch with  Top 500 Bulgarian Main Tank player and streamer, Bogur , who has been, in my opinion, one of the best Winston players on ladder for quite some time now. With Bogur's inputs, I've written this quick Winston guide for those of you that wish to get a holistic understanding of how this hero works in the current state of Overwatch. OVERVIEW Winston is what we call a 'Main Tank' in Overwatch, meaning his primary job is to create space for his team, enabling them to take up optimal positions ...

The OverSeer: Atlanta Reign 2020 Roster Review

Hello and welcome (back) to The OverSeer! My name is Proilios , and today, we'll be going over the Atlanta Reign's roster for Season 3 of the Overwatch League. Yesterday, I posted my thoughts on the Shanghai Dragons , and some common feedback I got was that I'm underrating their DPS line. That's fair, to be honest. The Dragons are pretty stacked in the damage department, but I thought I should account for a few factors that kept bothering me repeatedly, so I mentioned them in my DPS section. Regardless, I want to assure you that I'm as sold on that damage lineup as most of you guys are. Moving on to the topic at hand, I placed the Reign 8th in my end-of-season power rankings for 2019 , and this year, they still have a lot of last year's players, in addition to a few new faces. Let's take a look at each of them based on their roles, and then decide how well Atlanta is likely to do in 2020. TANK The Reign currently have Gator  and Pokpo  on main t...
