OverSimplified (Part 2) ft. SVB

Hellllllo guys, my name's Proilios , and today, I'm bringing you the second part of OverSimplified, courtesy of educational streamer and YouTuber, SVB . A grandmaster-level main tank player, co-host of the 'Group Up!' podcast, and a well-reputed gentleman, SVB  is easy to come to admire once you check out the vast array of well-constructed, relatable, and appropriately-granular content he puts out on his YouTube channel. He's devoted to educating the community about Overwatch, and once you step into his world, your perspective of the game changes forever.  If you pay enough attention, you start thinking like SVB , start playing like SVB , and maybe start your intros like SVB too, I don't know (*breaks eye contact*). Alright, a brief introduction to OverSimplified as well, for those who are new here. 'OverSimplified' is the educational section of 'The Plat Player's Perspective', with special guests taking centre stage in each episode, and shar

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 16 (May Melee Tournament) Predictions

After a long, long time, the Overwatch League is going to have a Playoff-style tournament, with lucrative prizes for every participating team along the way. The 'May Melee', as it's been named, is going to take place in two different brackets: one in the North American region, and the other in the Asian region. I'm not going to get into the details; you can find them here , but essentially, higher-seeded teams will get to pick their opponents, based on a few rules, which means that some of our predictions will need to be made last-minute. The odd thing about the North American May Melee is that the first match of the week is a qualifier to determine which team will be the last seed in the  tournament, and the subsequent matches, which are part of the main tournament, will begin immediately after it's over. I'll explain this better shortly, but let's get into my predictions for the 4 matchups that are already set to happen. Remember that there are no Hero Poo

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 15 Predictions

Are we ready for some Week 15 predictions, folks? I know I am, so let's go! DAY 1 1. Seoul Dynasty vs. Chengdu Hunters- Dynasty wins 3-0 . The Dynasty made a truly powerful statement last week by beating the Dragons, which is arguably the best team in the League right now. If they could beat Shanghai, they can certainly beat the Hunters, who are way sloppier than them, and just less-scary overall. With Orisa, Mei (YES), Tracer and Moira out of the Hero Pool this week, I think Seoul will be encouraged to play Sombra-Echo Dive (with Winston-D.Va-Zen-Brig), pretty much the same as two weeks ago. Profit  has got a great opportunity to show off his Echo skills against a weaker opponent this time round, and backed up by a team that is amazing at Dive, it should be an easy win for them. I think Chengdu will also opt into Dive, but maybe a Pharmercy variant of it. Winston-D.Va-Sombra-Pharah-Mercy-Zen seems like something the Hunters would love running. They've run low-sustain Dive com

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 14 Predictions

Hey everyone, Proilios here, and I'm ready to share some Week 14 predictions with you all! Hope everyone here is staying indoors and being as socially-distant as possible. The past few weeks have been rough for the professional Overwatch scene. Sinatraa quit Overwatch, along with a few other OWL players; the Vancouver Titans imploded and 'parted ways' with all  their players and coaching staff, and Mei wasn't banned last weekend...for the bazillionth time in a row. Still though, we do have 12 matches scheduled for the upcoming weekend, so let's get predicting! I'm not going to do any meta speculation this time round either; I think although there is a rough meta in the League each week, every team sort of puts their own spin on it and sees if they can incorporate their strengths into it. For that reason, I'll be trying to guess what sort of comps each team will run, while predicting their match results. The heroes out-of-rotation for Week 14 are Reinhardt, A

The OverSeer: Overwatch League S3 Week 13 Predictions

Sinatraa has quit Overwatch, the Vancouver Titans are falling apart, and Echo is finally available for League play. What was that statement supposed to achieve? Nothing, except making me sound professional, which, let's face it, is not an adjective you'd use to describe my posts. For real though, I'm stoked to have a new hero being thrown into the Overwatch League's Hero Pool; it always shakes up the meta and gets us all excited to see new playstyles and compositions being formed. Now, I usually speculate about the meta for the week before getting into my predictions, but this time, I don't have a proper guess for you. I'm not sure how Echo is going to fit into the game, and how big of an impact she will have on the meta (I would assume a huge one), so I don't want to share any firm thoughts. If she weren't  in the Pool though, I'd say Rushdown would be the way to go. With McCree out of the Pool, you could occupy his slot with Reaper instead, and
